During its more than 10 years history, there were many attempts to pigeon hole Merlin Communications. It could be defined as a PR agency, given the fact that among our colleagues there are many well-educated, well-connected PR-professionals who are working for our clientele’s communications successes. We were called an event-company as well, since we are attributed with all the necessary skills of a professional event-organizing agency; through our more than 10 years we managed an unimaginable number of events, from small, exclusive VIP parties to family days with ten thousand participants, at the most various locations serving a wide range of guests, always according to unique and creative concepts. Our clients considered us many times as a creative agency as well, since let it be a TV commercial, a radio spot, a print advertisement or any online solution, we have always created unique and relevant products that left a deep impression in the audience. And – being an innovative agency – we were referred to by many as a social media boutique, since we have well-known, in professional circles well acclaimed professionals focusing on these issues as well. All these professional competences that can be found at Merlin Communications are now unified under a new, key idea. This idea is what we call lifestyle communications.
The meaning of lifestyle communications is that we need to understand: as many target group, micro- or macro-communities are, just as many sort of lifestyle they have. We, at Merlin Communications state clearly: we cannot be professionals in all of our clients businesses. What we know much better, what we are really good at is that we know deeply various target groups, various consumer-groups. We believe, that for multiple reasons we know much deeper the motivations of these customer segments than our competitors. First, the professionals who are working with us are coming from many types of these communities, which they know very well. Second, in the last more than 10 years through our work we became acquainted with many different segments of the society. Third, and this is probably the most important, we prepare continuously surveys and analyses researching the motivations and habits of various target groups.
It is our daily practice, that before planning any type of communication campaign, we dig deep to the everyday life of the potential target group, we study their habits, their emotional and rational decision-making mechanisms, and we build this knowledge to our proposals. According to this deep understanding of the target group we prepare that integrated communication mix, in which can play a role any of our professional services, let it be PR, classic or alternative advertising, event management or social media.
